“Your presence in Rome, the heart of the Christian world, gives you an opportunity to live the Paschal Mystery intensely during Holy Week. In particular, it enables you to have a more intimate encounter with Christ, especially through contemplation of his Passion, death and Resurrection.”

Pope Benedict XVI to the participants in UNIV 2006

"It is a very good idea to have these yearly international meetings here in Rome for students from all over the world, and it's a good opportunity for you to come together like this... it's a great joy; for me it’s a great joy."

Pope John Paul II to the participants in UNIV 1986
